THE SECRET TO GETTING GOOD RESULTS
“You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…”
God loves results and hates fruitlessness. If God were a manager in an office, he won’t condone lack of effectiveness. He said he would take out any branch that wont bear fruit. “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it might bring forth more fruit. John 15:2 Jesus cursed the fig tree because it lacked the fruits that its leaves promised.
What is the secret of fruitfulness? How can I get more results? The answer lies in John 15:4: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. There is a life-giving force that you and I must constantly be connected to. Just like the branch to a tree. Or, the bulb to a socket. No abiding, no fruitfulness. No connection, no results. Abiding in Him guarantees your continual fruitfulness.
In today’s world, can be so busy working hard without paying attention to the results of our strivings. There are so many activities, relationships, systems, processes and pursuits that need to be constantly reviewed for results. And when the vital areas are lacking fruits, remember God’s performance management principles- there are things to cut off or to prune for better results. Make a list of your regular activities. What fruits do you expect from each? Are they bearing results? Which should you cut off? Which should you prune? Do this without sentiments.
PRAYER: Let’s pray for ECU Members worldwide for grace to bear fruits in all areas of their lives and ministries. I receive grace to be bold enough to cut off certain things and prune others without sentiments in Jesus name. Amen.
